FIN*Kawaii

Breeding abyssinians in small scale from year 2005 in all four basic colours. Emphasis on good natured, healthy pets and maintaining the genetic variance in the breed. I want to work in very open manner, so all previous and current breeding cats and litters are present in this site.

Current news

Kittens have moved to their new homes. Next litter possibly in winter 2010. I'm on vacation on July, so I'm not (hopefully) very much online.

Goals and Principles

Kawaii is japanese and means cute. I like quite cute and big eyed type in abys, with good sized ears. My cattery name was registered in 2005, after I first rehearsed breeding with placement cat, who had kittens for her breeder in my house in spring 2005. I am grateful for Anne ( Nebuankhet) for all advice and knowledge, which I got during this process. Our co-operation is still on-going.

I'll try to keep the amount of cats in my house reasonable, so I also place some of my breeding cats to responsible homes, where they will give birth to 1 or 2 Kawaii-litters. I don't want to expand my breeding program too much, because I want to be able to stay in touch with the owners. My cat's are not kitten machines, so one cat will get approximately 1-3 litters. After that they will live as happy household pets.

My cat's live as full family members and have full access in the apartment. They have 2 climbing trees and access to my balcony (with the net of course), when it is warm enough. Kittens are raised as family members living in the same areas with other cats. They are used to all kinds of noise and action. I even sometimes loan kids from next door to play with the kittens. I don't show cat's from my household during I have unvaccinated kittens in the house.

My breeding cat's are tested for PRA, patella luxation PK-deficiency, Felv and FIV if needed. Cat's don't have so far any health problems and they have good immune system and no reproduction problems.
